University of Kentucky Surplus Property receives numerous items and supplies from departments on a daily basis. Upon receipt, items are made available on a first-come, first-serve basis for selection and transfer to other departments providing a completed and signed Surplus Authorization Form.
Surplus Property provides three options for departments to view items available for transfer:
1. An intake record of all items received into Surplus Property is generated daily and uploaded to the Surplus Property page of the Purchasing Division website. The record shows all items recently received into the warehouse. The daily intake record is available here.
2. An online browsing catalog of common items available for transfer is available for departments to utilize and view in a dedicated section of the Govdeals.com website. The browsing catalog shows both common and unique available items with pictures and extended information. The browsing catalog is only available to University departments to view available items for transfer; these items are not available to the general public and are not for sale. If departments are interested in selecting any item(s) for checkout and transfer to their department, please contact Surplus Property to physically view, reserve, or checkout items. To access the browsing catalog:
- Access the GovDeals.com website at this dedicated link.
- Login to the site using the following username and password. Select the Remember Me button and click Login.
Username: wildcatsurplus
Password: Kentuckysurplus1 - Click on the top right user name dropdown menu (disregard the name listed on the menu). Select Tiers from the menu.
- The following screen displays a listing for University of Kentucky Surplus Catalog. Click the Yes link in the Assets availability column of the line.
The View Results screen shows select items at the Surplus Property warehouse potentially available for transfer. Many items shown are samples only representing a larger stock of items available on a continual basis. The browsing catalog does not list every item available for transfer in the warehouse. Departments should keep in mind actual items on hand and available for transfer may have different characteristics than some items shown in the browsing catalog.
3. Interested departmental staff and faculty may visit the Versailles Road warehouse to physically view and check out items in person. Although not required, employees may consider browsing the online catalog described above prior to their visit.
Important Things to Know for Departments Checking Out Surplus Property:
- Employees interested in viewing or checking out items must have UK ID to present to enter the warehouse.
- Warehouse Hours of Operation - Monday through Friday from 8:00-11:30 and 12:30-4:00.
- Employees must be present at warehouse to check out items for their department; item checkout cannot be done via phone or email.
- To check out Surplus items, departmental employees must have a completed Surplus Authorization Form with an original inked signature or Adobe e-signature with time and date stamp and dated no more than one week prior to checkout.
